Aberdeen International Curling Championship 2016

We are pleased to announce a new Curling Champions Tour & Scottish Curling Tour event in Aberdeen. The Aberdeen International Curling Championship will be hosted by Curl Aberdeen from 25th to 27th March 2016.

Curl Aberdeen is a purpose built, state of the art curling facility situated to the west of Aberdeen. Opened in 2005 Curl Aberdeen has held many competitions and events including the European Curling Championships in 2009. The six lane curling rink, which also has top of the range conference facilities, is the only dedicated curling facility in the North East of Scotland. It is a members club with over 700 members aged 8-90 playing seven days a week.

Twenty teams from around the world will contest the competition which will comprise of four sections of five teams playing a round robin format. The top two teams from each section will progress to the quarter finals where they will compete for their share of the total prize pot of £13,500.

Curl Aberdeen is running the Aberdeen International Curling Championship in partnership with British Curling and Village Urban Resort – Aberdeen, in support of Parkinson’s UK. Parkinson’s UK is a support and research charity working to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.
